About me

I have worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist for a number of years in primary and secondary care within the NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust.  I have also run group therapy CBT courses with the Cambridge Group Therapy Centre and I have trained with and previously worked as a volunteer therapist with Choices, supporting men and women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse.

I have experience of working with a wide range of anxiety and mood disorders.  I have a particular interest in simple and complex trauma, moral injury, PTSD and insomnia.  The cognitive behavioural therapy that I use is influenced by Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused therapy as well as by Schema-Focused and Narrative Therapies.

I am trained in the use of EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) for appropriate trauma cases and I have recently incorporated Attachment-Informed EMDR which adapts the standard EMDR model to help with current problems that may have their origins in traumatic events experienced in early childhood.

I practice within the codes of ethical and professional practice of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.
